Morning in Christmas
Morning Prayer in Christmas
Getting started:
In the name of God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
-or-
In the name of God:
Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen.
Morning Declaration: Isaiah 9:2&6
“The people who walk in darkness
will see a great light.
For those who live
in a land of deep darkness,
a light will shine.
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us."
A Humble Prayer of Need (Luke 18:13)
God be merciful and help me,
because I'm not all I should be.
Praying Like Jesus (Matthew 6:9-13)
God of heaven and earth
and all that is:
I honor you and
I commit myself to you.
I will follow your Way
in all times and places,
and I'm content
with what you bring me today.
I'm only human
and I need your help
to share with others
the grace I need from you.
Thank you,
for being my strength
when I am weak,
and my wisdom
when I speak.
Thank you,
for the peace to go forward
and for always being with me.
Amen.
Praying Like Mary (Luke 1:38)
Here I am, trusting in God;
I want God’s will to be done in me.
A brief reflection on Christmas:
Take a moment to consider
the story of God's love as we
know it in the incarnation:
God loves us so much that
coming to live among us as a
humble human was an option!
God will always draw near
to know us and to be known.
A Prayer of Christmas Dedication
(Colossians 2:6-7)
"Jesus Christ, you are the
foundation and the wisdom
which I choose for my life!
Thank you for the chance
to grow with you and
to follow your Way.
May your truth be planted
deep in my heart and mind,
and may it lead and guide
me always!"
Breathe deeply until you are still,
and finish:
Amen.
- or -
Let it be.
