Praying in Eastertide!

It's only been a month, but scriptureprayers.com is being accessed and used, and I'm finding it to be a dependable part of my day. The scripturally based prayers and readings have been a strength and foundation for me when launching in the morning, stopping for a midday stretch of mind and heart, and when bringing myself and the day in for a landing in the evening.

As we arrive at the end of Holy Week, with our Lenten journey done, I've been thinking and praying about the way these prayers were born out of Lent. Though it wasn't an intention for them to be only Lenten prayers, and I don't think that these prayers lose anything outside of Lent, I've decided to craft a new set of Morning, Midday and Evening Prayers for the weeks of Easter.

The season of Easter, or Eastertide, can be counted a couple of different ways by various communities around the world, but we in the Episcopal Church count 50 days, from Easter Sunday to Pentecost, which is Sunday April 20th through Sunday June 8th in 2025. During these 50 days the Daily Office here on scriptureprayers.com will be changed to set of prayers which reflect some of the Easter themes of resurrection, new life and discipleship.

If you find these prayers helpful, please reach out with a comment here at the blog and become a conversation and prayer partner with me. Looking ahead I can see the prayers changed out again after Pentecost for the long season of Ordinary Time before changing again to welcome the Advent Season beginning on Sunday, November 30th, 2025.

St. Paul describes the way that God's Spirit is always praying with and for us (Romans 8:26-30). May we in our daily prayers, using this site and all the other resources with which we've been so blessed, feel that Spirit and those prayers lifted alongside our own. Amen!

Be blessed, Rev. Todd

This site has been created to help someone begin and continue in an intention of daily prayer with scripture. It is the hope of all who work hard to maintain the site that you would be blessed in its use and would share it with anyone else it could help.

All scripture readings are from the New Living Translation unless otherwise noted.
