Midday in Advent

Midday Prayer in Advent

Getting started:

In the name of God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

   -or-

In the name of God:
Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen.

A Daily Reminder:

Galatians 5:16a,22-23a

“So I say, let the Holy Spirit

guide your lives...

the Holy Spirit produces

this kind of fruit in our lives:

love, joy, peace, patience,

kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness

and self-control.”

And a Response:

God, if my day

has been producing

other things,

bring me back

to the Spirit's guidance!

Praying Like Jesus (Matthew 6:9-13)

God of heaven and earth

and all that is:

I honor you and

I commit myself to you.

I will follow your Way

in all times and places,

and I'm content

with what you bring me today.

I'm only human

and I need your help

to share with others

the grace I need from you.

Thank you,

for being my strength

when I am weak,

and my wisdom

when I speak.

Thank you,

for the peace to go forward

and for always being with me.

Amen.

A Prayer for Wisdom (James 3:17-18)

O God of good gifts,

give me your wisdom

that makes a soul

to be pure, peaceful,

loving, gentle and able

to get along with others.

Give me sincerity

in all I have left

to say and do this day.

Your Heart & Mind:
How is the day taking

shape? How can God

help you going forward?

A Prayer for the Rest of the Day (Isaiah 40:31)

God, be my strength!
I've got things to do

and work to accomplish.
Help me overcome

every obstacle, fatigue

and frustration.

I rededicate myself

to you and your Way.

Breathe deeply until you are still,

and finish:
Amen.

Let it be.
