Morning in Eastertide
Morning Prayer - Dedication & Launch
Find a posture
for your prayer.
You may make the sign
of the cross or another gesture as you begin.
Beginning
In the name of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
-or-
In the name of God: Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen.
Our opening scripture readings and prayers are about dedicating us and the day to God and expressing our need for God.
Morning Declaration: Colossians 3:12
Since God has chosen us and loves us,
we must cover ourselves inside and out
with empathy, mercy, and kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience for all.
The Tax Collector’s Prayer (Luke 18:13)
God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power
and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
The Speaker's Prayer (Isaiah 50:4)
Give me words of healing and nourishment.
From the start to the close of this day,
I give myself to you, O God, for instruction.
Here for a few moments
you use your own words
to express the things
that are on your mind
and in your heart.
Your Heart & Mind:
Is there anything planned or expected in this day
for which you’d ask God’s help to face or accomplish?
Who would you ask God to bless in this day?
Our final prayers are all about our intention to go into the day with God.
The Wonder of Elizabeth (Luke 1:41-44)
How am I so loved and blessed by God?
Joy has leapt up within me, and
I would be a blessing as I am blessed.
An Artist's Prayer (Psalm 19:14)
Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
O God, my rock and my redeemer.
Breathe deeply until you are still:
Amen.
- or -
Let it be.
